However, given that this anime is not licensed by Nintendo, one would think the video game giant would have descended upon the project and smacked it with the cease and desist hammer. This is not so, at least, not yet. The project has been up since yesterday and has not seen scrutiny by the company.
Jarom Smith, one of the fans working on the project, commented on Reddit:
So, if Nintendo has not given Aiepathy Industries permission, then what gives? Certainly, they have a track record of defending their properties, especially with fan made products like this Bulbasaur planter. However, the company does have a lot to deal with in the coming weeks, considering the recent death of Satoru Iwata, the company’s president.
At the moment, the Kickstarter is still going strong and if it is very successful the entirety of A Link to the Past will be turned into a 90 minute film.
